Does It Need Washing Before Use?

As part of the manufacturing process, the brass sheets are cleaned before being formed into the container. However, dust and debris may occasionally get inside some pieces at later stages of production. Each piece is wiped clean on the outside at the final stage, and examined before shipping.

The makhala is ready to use on delivery. A quick wipe of the applicator with an antibacterial wipe or damp tissue is beneficial but not necessary.

For those who prefer a thorough wash, this is easy to do: fill with water mixed with your choice of soap or detergent, shake well, then leave to dry in a well-ventilated area. A hairdryer can speed up the drying process.

Ive tried so many different things to get the kohl to stick on equally to the tip and its just not possible. Ive tried it dry, with water, olive oil, rose water etc... yet it never has once stuck properly. Im not disappoint with the kohl itself as I havent had the chance to properly try it, but very disappointed with the price and the functionality of such a crucial part like the makhala. I may be doing it wrong for something so straightfoward sure, however I shouldnt have to search up multiple times how and why it is nit hold the powder and troubleshooting.

Sorry for hearing that the product has not met your expectation and you having difficulty in using it

Once the kohl is poured into the metallic makhala and shaken or moved around a bit, naturally some bits of it would stick on the stick upon taking it out. You apply this amount no matter how tiny it looks around the eyes. The moisture of the eyes should make more kohl to stick after for the subsequent applications.
All you need is just a thin film of dust on stick - not whole lumps.

Unfortunately, my experience with this product was very disappointing.
I ordered black and red ithmid kohl along with a kohl container and applicator sticks, but the packaging was extremely poor and unprofessional.

The kohl container arrived looking used, as there were visible traces of black kohl inside it, which is completely unacceptable in terms of hygiene and quality.
Additionally, the red ithmid bottle had red/brown residue on the cap, indicating that it had been opened or used before shipping.

This raises serious concerns about the cleanliness and safety of the product, especially since it is meant for use on the eyes.
I do not recommend purchasing unless the packaging and quality control are significantly improved.
Additionally, there is no certificate or official seal indicating that the product is authentic.
